Maya Jama is reportedly set to embark on a major new television venture in the United States, just weeks after her split from Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias. The presenter, 31, is said to have secured a significant role in an American TV show, with filming expected to commence in the coming weeks.
According to sources, Jama will balance her commitments to ITV's Love Island, currently filming in Majorca, with trips to the US to meet with television executives and advance her secretive new project. A source told The Sun: "Maya's schedule is really exciting. She is more sought after than ever and is loving all the different projects she has going on. Maya thrives off being busy and manifesting her career goals — she definitely isn't heartbroken and licking her wounds."
Split from Ruben Dias
News of Jama's split from Dias emerged last month, ending an 18-month relationship. The couple reportedly removed pictures of each other from their social media accounts, sparking rumours of infidelity. However, Dias has vehemently denied these claims, even taking to social media to refute them. In an emotional post, he wrote: "When my 85-year-old grandad is asking me if I've cheated on my girlfriend because he's seen it repeatedly on the news, that's where I draw the line. Maya and I have always had a relationship built on mutual respect. No line was ever crossed in that regard. Understand that not always one has to betray the other in order for a relationship to end."
New Projects and Future Plans
Beyond the US TV deal, Jama is also set to appear in the second series of Guy Ritchie's Netflix show, The Gentlemen. Additionally, photos from her recent Agent Provocateur shoot have surfaced, showcasing her in a range of swimwear. The source added: "Maya always kept her home in London but she might not be there for much anyway with her filming schedule taking her across Europe and the US in the coming months."
The Mirror has contacted Maya Jama for comment.
