Viewers of ITV's The Masked Singer have expressed confusion after the show aired a Halloween-themed episode in January. The episode, titled 'The Masked Singer Spooktacular,' featured host Joel Dommett in a Wednesday Addams-inspired outfit and the judges in dramatic costumes, including guest star Ben Shephard.
Fans took to social media to question the timing, with one writing: 'DEAR @ITV Why is #TheMaskedSinger #Halloween special on in JANUARY?!!' Another commented: 'Why are they doing a #Halloween special in January? This should have been done separately from the rest of the series.'
The Halloween theme caught viewers off guard, as the holiday is traditionally celebrated on October 31. One baffled fan asked: 'Why are we getting a Halloween themed #TheMaskedSinger in January?' while another pointed out: 'Erm, Halloween was months ago!'
Last weekend, Yak was eliminated from the competition and unmasked as legendary punk singer John Lydon. The Sex Pistols frontman said: 'For me, I hope the fun comes across. I'm the court jester by nature.' Yak joined Disc Jockey (Alex Jones) and Teabag (Professor Green) as the third celebrity to leave the show.
