Masked Singer Twist: Fans Believe Judge Ben Shephard Is Actually Contestant Conkers

The Masked Singer has sparked a major twist theory, with viewers convinced that This Morning presenter Ben Shephard is secretly performing as Conkers. Despite having appeared as a guest judge in a previous episode, fans believe his presence on the panel was a deliberate ruse.

During Saturday's episode, Conkers performed The Monkees' 'I'm A Believer'. Judges Maya Jama, Perrie Edwards, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan guessed various celebrities, but home viewers were adamant the voice belonged to Ben Shephard. One fan tweeted: 'I know Ben Shephard was on the panel last week but I’m still convinced Conkers is him!' Another wrote: 'I’m convinced Ben being on the panel last week was to throw us off, Conkers is literally Ben Shephard!'

If true, this would be an audacious twist, as Shephard was a guest judge in episode four when singer Marcella Detroit was unmasked as Gargoyle. Detroit, of Shakespears Sister fame, said she was 'really sad to go' and described the experience as 'incredible'. Earlier, Yak was revealed as former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, who said his appearance fee would help fund a new album.
