Channel 4's Sunday Brunch was forced to halt and apologise after guest Nick Offerman swore live on air. The 55-year-old American actor, known for his role in Parks and Recreation, was promoting his book Little Woodchucks when the incident occurred.
Offerman was discussing his fear of letting down his parents when he described his younger self as 'a real t**t'. He immediately asked, 'Can I say that?' prompting host Tim Lovejoy to interject: 'You can't. I am going to apologise for that. But carry on.' The studio erupted in nervous laughter.
This is not the first time Sunday Brunch has faced controversy. Earlier this year, comedian Katherine Ryan breached Ofcom rules by repeatedly mentioning Gousto recipe boxes. Channel 4 promised further training for the show's makers after the regulator found the mentions went beyond acceptable limits.
Channel 4 stated that Ryan's references were unsolicited and unscripted, and she expressed remorse after being spoken to by the editorial team. The network assured Ofcom that no further mentions would occur.
