Emily Maitlis and Marjorie Taylor Greene came face to face on Wednesday's (4 November) instalment of Uncensored, two years after the US politician told the BBC journalist to "f*** off".
Sitting side by side, Piers Morgan asked both women about their clash in March 2024, when Maitlis pulled the former Republican member for an interview and asked, "Could you tell me why so many people that support Donald Trump love conspiracy theories, including yourself?"
Greene's scathing reply made headlines at the time: "Well, let me tell you, you're a conspiracy theorist, and the left and the media spread more conspiracy theories. We like the truth. We like supporting our Constitution, our freedoms and America first." She then told Maitlis to "f*** off".
Reaction to the 'tricky encounter'
As Morgan replayed the interview footage, he asked the pair how they felt about the "tricky encounter". Greene said, "I actually haven't talked to Emily since then, and I still stand by the words I said there - they were ridiculous questions!"
She added, "I felt like [Abdul] El-Sayed as he was being questioned by Sky News. Here in America, we make our own decisions and know our own issues. And when we get asked rude questions like that, we are going to push back, and we don't care who it is."
Midterm election and Epstein Files
Moving on, Greene spoke about the recent midterm election, which saw Republicans hit by a 'blue tsunami' as Democrats gained a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate. "Trump blew it," she declared, "And everyone that stood there clapping like stupid little trained baby seals, right behind him, own it all. They're gonna have to realise the real issues."
Morgan then returned to the clash, telling Maitlis, "Can I just say, since that moment in the Mar-a-Lago Ballroom, my admiration for Marjorie Taylor Greene has only increased."
Maitlis responded, "You called out a bully [President Donald Trump] before many in your own party did. And what you did over the Epstein Files was absolutely the right move." Greene, who has been called a "traitor" by Trump, publicly condemned the US leader for failing to release all of the Epstein Files, and stood alongside victims and Democrats while calling for a House vote on the matter. As of June 2026, she is no longer a supporter of the Republican Party and has become a vocal critic of the president.
"Arguably, it's what pushed him [Trump], finally, to release those files," Maitlis said. "I do think it's extraordinary that you were willing to stand up to your party."
