Netflix has confirmed the release date for the fourth season of the hit thriller series Lupin, which stars French actor Omar Sy. The show, one of the streaming platform's most-watched non-English programmes, will return on October 23, 2026, giving fans just four months to wait before the return of the gentleman thief.
A Global Phenomenon
Lupin drew inspiration from the fictional master of disguise Arsène Lupin, a character from early 20th-century French literature. The series attracted 76 million households during its first month, making it the most-watched non-English programme on Netflix at the time. It also earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama Series and received widespread critical acclaim, with particular praise for Omar Sy's performance as Assane Diop, a man who models himself after Lupin to avenge his father's death.
Fan Reactions
Devotees have taken to IMDb to express their enthusiasm. One fan declared they "enjoyed it more than Money Heist", adding: "I don't see why this has a lower rating than Money Heist, but I like this show as the main character is smart and it always ends at a good part for you to watch the next episode." Another described it as "superb", stating: "It's rare to find such a good show these days. Definitely a watcher!"
A third fan called it "bingeworthy", while another wrote: "A wonderful surprise. Omar Sy is perfect for the role. I can't imagine anyone but him in it. That said, all the acting is top-flight, and the screenwriting and cinematography superb." Yet another viewer remarked: "I absolutely loved it. The series, featuring the talented Omar Sy, was so engaging and thrilling that I found myself binge-watching all of the episodes in just one day. The writing was top-notch, creating a captivating storyline with well-developed characters."
Production and New Cast
Filming for the fourth season began in May. Sy shared his excitement: "I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time." Newcomers Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard have joined the ensemble, while returning cast members include Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, and Shirine Boutella.
Lupin returns to Netflix for series four on October 23, 2026.
