Love Island's Sean Regrets Casa Amor Challenge After Exit

Love Island's Sean Fitzgerald has admitted he regrets his actions during the Casa Amor challenge, saying 'if I could take it back I would' after he and partner Lola Deal were eliminated from the villa in a brutal twist on July 12.

The couple, who had been together since day one and had made their romance exclusive, found themselves in the bottom three alongside Mica and Samraj, and Martha and Jordon. After Julia and Lorenzo won the public vote, they were forced to choose which couple to send home, ultimately selecting Sean and Lola.

Lola's True Feelings on Casa Amor

Following their tearful departure, Lola has opened up about her genuine feelings regarding Sean's Casa Amor challenge, which saw him kissing two bombshells while Lola showed restraint. Speaking to ITV, she revealed she was not impressed by his victory in the challenge.

'When Maya came in and said the boys were going, I was like, "Oh God's sake." Not because I don't trust him. I trust him with absolutely everything. I never thought he'd do anything to disrespect me,' Lola said. 'When he won that challenge, though, I was not impressed. I remember thinking, "Mate, I've actually been here dressed like a little librarian doing the most horrendous licks I've ever seen on someone."'

She added: 'I was licking trousers and thinking, "There's no way this is the one." But to be fair to Sean, I know the optics weren't great, but he was so respectful. We'd already spoken about our boundaries. I don't mind him dancing with girls. I actually love when he does because I think it's fun. The kisses were kept quite respectful.'

Movie Night Fallout

Viewers were baffled when Lola appeared unfazed after the Casa Amor footage aired during Movie Night. Lola admitted she wasn't bothered: 'Honestly, I wasn't fussed. Watching it, it didn't really mean anything to me because I knew it didn't mean anything to him. Obviously it's not nice to watch, but I haven't really thought about it since. It didn't upset me because I've just got so much trust in him. He reassures me all the time, every single day. I know how much he loves me. I know he'd never intentionally hurt me.'

Sean's Regret

Sean also commented on the challenge, saying: 'Do you know what? Lola wasn't upset at all because, as soon as I came back, we had such open communication. When it came up, I think everyone was shocked that she was just like, "Yeah, no, it happened." But that was because we'd spoken about it. I'd explained every detail of what happened, so it wasn't a shock. It definitely had more of an impact on me than it did on her.'

He added: 'If I could take it back, I would. But it was just a game. Outside of challenges and games, I've done nothing wrong. Even in the challenges, that was the first time I properly kissed someone, I think. Every other time it was just granny kisses.'

Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
