Love Island's resident heartthrob Lorenzo had to give up one of his favourite habits in exchange for a spot in the ITV villa. The 28-year-old is competing to be crowned this year's Love Island winner and take home the whopping £50,000 prize.
Lorenzo's Sacrifice for the Villa
During a chat with Daily Star's Bekka Barnard before he entered the show, Lorenzo cheekily admitted what he'll miss most about normal life: “I do love having afternoon tea! I used to be quite big, I love tea and cake in the afternoon. I’m a creature of habit.”
He added: “What I’ve really realised over the last few years is to just say yes to every adventure, see what happens, let the chips fall where they may and roll with it.”
Lorenzo has become a fan favourite of the 2026 series. “It’s such a short period of life, how long you’re in there for [the villa] so you just have to forgo those creature comforts and see where it takes you,” he said.
Bonding with the Chaperone
The charming reality TV star admitted that he thought one of the show's crew was ”a bit p***** off” with him after spending a lot of time together during holding. Love Island contestants are kept in isolation before they enter the villa, meaning that they have to be chaperoned for a few days as they await their time.
Lorenzo was kept in isolation without contact with the outside world to prepare him for life inside the villa and told us: ”I talk all the time, I’ll talk to anybody.”
”I think my chaperone’s getting a bit p***** off with me! I non-stop talk all the time. There’s always conversation, always something to be said.” However, he praised his chaperone for being "great" during the holding period despite there being "not much to do". Lorenzo told us they'd only been "sunbathing and going out for dinner".
