Love Island viewers have expressed fury after Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint were dramatically dumped from the villa in a shock double exit on Friday night. The couple received the fewest votes in a public poll, leaving fans fuming that they were not given a chance to test their relationship in Casa Amor.
During the episode, the Islanders were summoned to the fire pit where they learned that Konnor Ewudzi and Grace Jackson, Harriett and Ronnie, and Uma Jammeh and Wil Anderson were the bottom three couples. It was then revealed that Harriett and Ronnie had the least votes and were sent home. Upon hearing the news, Harriett whispered to Ronnie: 'What the f**k?' and later told the girls: 'I'm so confused right now.' She broke down in tears, blaming Ronnie's involvement in a love triangle with Jess White.
Viewers took to social media to vent their frustration. One wrote: 'NO I AM ACTUALLY FUMING #loveisland', while another said: 'Nah ronnie and Harriet would’ve been so good to watch in Casa ..I’m fuming #loveIsland.' A third added: 'Why has Harriet gone home? I’m fuming. #loveIsland.' Many felt the couple deserved more time in the villa, especially with Casa Amor returning this weekend.
In a post-exit interview, Harriett said: 'I feel sad to go. I felt that my experience in the villa wasn’t over yet. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, so if they think me and Ronnie should have gone, what can you do?' Ronnie added: 'I know that I went into the villa just being me so I know I can walk out with my head held high. I wanted to stay a bit longer, but obviously my time was up.'
