Love Island Fans Outraged Over Major Change in Heart Rate Challenge
Love Island Fans Outraged Over Heart Rate Challenge Change

Love Island fans have identified a significant issue as the programme's steamiest challenge made its eagerly awaited comeback. Last night's episode (Tuesday, June 23) witnessed anticipation building in the Love Island villa as the Islanders received the text they had all been hoping for.

Heart Rate Challenge Returns with a Twist

Following a contentious round of Never Have I Ever, which exposed several romantic secrets, Lorenzo received a message stating: "Islanders, tonight you will get each other's hearts racing in a Boys vs Girls challenge." With the return of the Heart Rate Challenge, the format was straightforward - the boys and girls must battle to see who can send the most pulses soaring through a series of sexy performances.

The girls kicked things off first, with producers choosing to broadcast the boys' routines in tonight's episode (June 24). Yet before the girls even got the chance to begin, sharp-eyed viewers identified a significant problem which left them rather unimpressed.

Fans Spot Major Change

As the lads tried to gather themselves before the performances, viewers observed they weren't positioned around the Fire Pit as customary, but were instead sat on chairs in the garden, reports OK!. One viewer vented on X: "The heart rate challenge is always my favourite episode but for some reason I don't like it as much when they don't do it around the fire pit."

Another questioned: "I hate these plastic chair performances that they make them do now. What happened to the fire-pit?!" A third commented: "WHY did they move the heart rate challenge from the fire pit to this weird chair lineup? It's so dead." A fourth responded: "Hey so they need to go back to the fire pit...", while a fifth echoed: "Why are they on chairs and not at the fire pit?? Why are we broke island now."

Fan Reactions Continue

One fan penned: "The heart rate challenge doesn't hit the same when it's not around the fire pit." Another voiced their bewilderment: "Why is this not at the fire pit? I'm confused." First up was Ellie who boldly dazzled in a red ensemble, making a memorable impact. Each of the girls took their moment in turn as they sought to set the boys' pulses soaring.

Tonight's episode will witness the boys tackle the challenge, aiming to surpass last evening's displays. But will the outcomes throw the villa into turmoil? Love Island airs Sunday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
