Love Island's start date for its upcoming season has been officially confirmed, with the brand-new series set to premiere in just a few weeks. The immensely popular ITV2 dating show, which was revived in 2015, will return for its 13th season very soon, featuring Maya Jama, 31, as the host.
According to reports from The Sun, Love Island will be back on screens from June 1, 2026. A source close to the production shared with the publication: "After an explosive All Stars where the drama just kept on coming, bosses are keen to keep the ball rolling and head into the summer series full throttle. They’re talking to some of the most gorgeous and entertaining Islanders yet because it all comes down to the cast. Everything looks set for kick off June 1st all being well with plans."
Last year's series of Love Island aired between June 9 and August 4, 2025, with Cach Mercer and Toni Laites being crowned winners. However, the couple split earlier this year, leaving fans devastated. Maya Jama joined the show in January 2023, taking over from Laura Whitmore, 40.
Love Island was last on screens in January when Maya presented the spin-off Love Island All Stars. That series aired from January 15 to February 2026 and saw previous Islanders return to the iconic villa in South Africa to find love once again. Viewers voted Ciaran Davies and Samie Elishi as winners, but they split shortly after returning to the UK. Meanwhile, Millie Court and Love Island USA star Zac Woodworth were runners-up and are still going strong despite the long distance.
The All Stars spin-off premiered in 2024, won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare, followed by a second series in 2025, which saw Casey O'Gorman and Gabby Allen crowned winners.
Maya looked more loved-up than ever as she shared Instagram snaps from a romantic getaway to Rome with her boyfriend, Manchester City player Ruben Dias, 28. The TV personality showcased her figure in a skimpy bikini before sightseeing in a chic ensemble, visiting the Vatican and the Coliseum, and staying at the Bvlgari hotel. She captioned the post: "Can you tell I love it here?"
Earlier, Maya shared her thoughts on the chaotic live I'm A Celebrity... South Africa final on Friday night. The final saw David Haye explode at Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas, Jimmy Bullard rant at hosts Ant and Dec, and Sinitta and Gemma Collins storm off stage. Maya retweeted a clip and said: "Didn’t watch but from this clip alone... This is why I love live TV so much & hosting the aftersun show because barely any channels do it anymore out of fear of what can go wrong but people want real reactions and an edited show will never compete to the live experience! Ant and Dec I love you forever also x."
During the final, Ant and Dec gave Jimmy the chance to speak after Adam allegedly called him the 'C-word' in an explosive clash. Jimmy said: "Listen, Adam and all of you can be upset with me... But what I don't stand on, is someone being abusive, aggressive and intimidating." He added: "You [pointing to the hosts] were there and you didn't show any of that [footage]. You didn't show any of the C-bombs, it's a liberty." Ant argued: "The reason we didn't air the C-bomb is because that is unbroadcastable. I was there and I didn't think it was intimidating." Adam apologised, but David Haye interjected, and Sinitta stormed off, yelling: "Guys, you weren't there, I was there and it was aggressive and abusive, we were shaking."
Love Island airs on ITV.
