Love Island 2024 Final: Viewers Unhappy with Pre-Recorded Segments

The Love Island 2024 final aired on Monday night, but many viewers expressed frustration with the format. The episode featured pre-recorded footage of the final night in the villa, including a meal and romantic speeches, before the live announcement of the winners. Fans took to social media to complain that the final was boring until the winner was revealed.

One viewer wrote on X: 'Is it just me or does anyone else find the #LoveIsland final boring until the winner is announced?!' Another said: 'This part of the final is always long and boring. #LoveIsland' The complaints were echoed by several others who found the pre-recorded segments tedious.

The final four couples were announced on Sunday: Sean Stone and Matilda Draper, Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, Ayo Odukoya and Jess Spencer, and Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel. The winning couple receives £50,000.

Sunday night's episode saw Joey Essex and Jessy Potts dumped from the villa just hours before the final. The Islanders voted for the two least compatible couples, and past Islanders from the 2024 series decided which couple to remove. Joey and Jessy were eliminated after several Islanders accused Joey of 'game playing'.

In an exit interview, Joey said: 'It feels good to be leaving... It’s my birthday on Monday so feels like I’m going out at a good time.' He added that he did not expect to win the show and plans to 'crack on with life Joey Essex style.'
