Lorraine Kelly was left horrified during an interview with journalist Tina Brown, who revealed a shocking comment Prince Andrew made about his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. The revelation came as Brown discussed her new book, The Palace Papers, which examines the Royal Family.
During the conversation, Brown recounted an incident where a media executive visited the Duchess of York about a TV show. Prince Andrew reportedly entered and asked, 'What are you talking to this fat cow about?' Lorraine reacted in horror, struggling to find words, and later said, 'I can't believe it, that's his attempt at humour!'
Tina Brown described Andrew's behaviour as 'boorishness' that was tolerated until it escalated into the scandal involving Jeffrey Epstein and the sexual assault allegations made by Virginia Giuffre, which Andrew has strenuously denied. The case was settled out of court in February with an undisclosed payment.
Despite their divorce in 1996, Sarah Ferguson continues to live with Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge, his seven-bedroom mansion near Windsor Castle. The interview also touched on the impact of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the Royal Family, with Brown noting the Queen's vulnerability following the loss of Prince Philip and her declining health.
