Lorraine Kelly has confirmed she will return to ITV on September 7, following a break from her daytime programme that she described as "amazing."
The 66-year-old presenter shared the news during an appearance on the opening episode of the new series of James Martin's Saturday Morning on Saturday, August 29.
A Break Focused on Family
Lorraine told James Martin that her time away from the studio had been "amazing," allowing her to spend more time with her granddaughter. She also revealed a special family moment, saying: "Yes, I'm back on the 7th of September after a big break, which has been amazing. I've spent lots of time with my granddaughter."
She continued: "My daughter Rosie got married, which was wonderful. She got married in Scotland, just outside of Dunblane, and it was beautiful. We had a wonderful, wonderful time, so I feel very lucky."
Rosie married Steve White in July at the Cromlix Hotel near Dunblane, giving Lorraine another reason to cherish her time away from television.
Family Over Career
When James noted Lorraine's commitment to family traditions, she reflected on her priorities, saying: "A job is great, but it's just a job at the end of the day. Your family and friends are the most important thing."
Her break comes amid changes to ITV's daytime schedule, with Lorraine's programme now running for 30 weeks of the year rather than throughout the full year. The show has also been reduced from an hour-long programme to 30 minutes, while Good Morning Britain takes over the extended morning slot when Lorraine is off air.
Lifestyle Changes
During her appearance, the pair also discussed their changing lifestyles and efforts to stay in shape. James joked about his own efforts, saying: "I've stopped eating sugar. I've lost two stone from not eating sugar."
Lorraine then revealed her own changes, telling him, "I came off the booze. And I stopped having chocolate at nighttime."
James Martin Saturday Morning airs every Saturday from 9:30am on ITV1 and ITVX, and Lorraine will return on September 7 from 9:30am on ITV1 and ITVX.
