Pamela Anderson is set to return to the big screen in a remake of the classic comedy franchise The Naked Gun, alongside Liam Neeson. The film, directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island, will be produced by Paramount Pictures.
Schaffer, along with Doug Mand and Dan Gregor—the team behind the Emmy-winning Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers—will write the script. Plot details remain under wraps, but Neeson will play the bumbling detective Frank Drebin, originally portrayed by Leslie Nielsen. Anderson will play his love interest, a role blending sexiness and humour similar to that originated by Priscilla Presley.
Producers include Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins under their Fuzzy Door banner. Schaffer, known for executive producing I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson and Pen15, will also serve as executive producer.
The remake marks a significant return to film for Anderson, who rose to fame on Baywatch. After her film debut in Barb Wire, she appeared in Scary Movie 3 and various reality shows. More recently, she was the subject of the Hulu series Pam & Tommy, which she publicly opposed, and starred in the Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story.
Anderson is also set to appear in Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl, her first film role since 2022. Paramount is targeting a July 2025 release for the Naked Gun remake.
