Leanne Morgan's comedy series Leanne is returning for a second season on Netflix this summer, with a Yellowstone star among the new cast. The show, produced by Chuck Lorre, will premiere on August 27, 2026, with all 10 episodes released simultaneously.
Return Date and Episode Count
The second season of Leanne debuts on Netflix on August 27, 2026, consisting of 10 episodes. Unlike the first season's 16-episode run, this season is more compact but still draws inspiration from Morgan's stand-up comedy material. All episodes will be available at once for binge-watching.
Chuck Lorre, the producer behind The Big Bang Theory, praised the series: "Congrats to Leanne and the entire cast and crew. This has been an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the whole package. A comedic genius, a warm, loving human being, and an absolute joy to work with."
New Cast Members
Country music star and Yellowstone actress Lainey Wilson joins the cast. The 34-year-old Louisiana native made her TV debut on Yellowstone in 2022 as Abbey. She also stars in her own Netflix documentary and made her film debut in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Reminders of Him.
Jaime Pressly, known for her role as Joy Turner in My Name Is Earl, has also been confirmed. Billy Gardell, celebrated for Mike & Molly, and acclaimed actress Tyne Daly round out the new additions.
Returning Cast
Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Jayma Mays, Tim Daly, Graham Rogers, Hannah Pilkes, and Andrea Anders will reprise their roles in the second season.
Plot Overview
The sitcom follows Leanne, whose life is upended when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. According to Netflix, "Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter, and hope in the most unexpected places."
