Resurfaced Footage Shows Kylie Minogue Clapping Back at Journalist Over Dannii Question
Kylie Minogue Claps Back at Journalist Over Dannii Question

Shock footage has resurfaced of Kylie Minogue losing her cool at a journalist after she was asked an invasive question about her relationship with sister Dannii. The clip from 1998 is featured in the new Netflix documentary called Kylie, which shows the Australian singer at an album signing event in the UK.

The journalist immediately gets off on the wrong foot with the singer as he asks her why her recently released album was self-titled, which he claimed was 'not overly imaginative.'

'You really don't know? It was originally called Impossible Princess – and still is in some places – but it isn't here because it was due to be released when the tragedy with Princess Diana happened,' an annoyed Kylie said.

The reporter then asks Kylie another question which enrages her: 'Is there any truth to the rumours that you and Dannii aren't talking?'

A furious Kylie was then seen standing up from her seat and clapping back at the journalist over what she saw as a 'ridiculous' question.

'Excuse me, where are you from? Is that a serious question? "Is there any truth that we aren't talking?"... I find that so ridiculous!' Kylie snapped.

'Are these your questions or someone else's? Well, God, we'd best go back to primary school! "Are we not talking?"'

The new Netflix documentary features candid moments like this and many others to highlight how Kylie has been portrayed by the media in her four-decade long career.

Behind the Scenes with Jason Donovan

For the doco, Kylie also shared never-before-seen home video footage with Jason Donovan. The couple – who famously starred together on Neighbours – dated for five years in the Eighties, during which time Kylie launched a successful singing career.

The Netflix documentary shares an insight into their romance, with Jason admitting he was jealous of Kylie's success.

Discussing their time on the Australian soap, Kylie, 57, shared: 'We could understand each other. And we must have fancied each other as well, that helps! We were just kids, fresh out of high school so it was that sweetheart romance.'

Jason, 57, added: 'It was art imitating life.'

Home video footage of the pair in the early days of their romance showed fresh-faced Kylie rolling around in bed giggling, as Jason filmed her.

Yet things soon soured between the pair after Kylie launched a commercially successful singing career but struggled with the criticism she faced.

Jason reflected: 'She really struggled and I was like, "well, maybe you shouldn't have gone down that route..." because that's how my attitude was. Her music career at that point had really taken off. It didn't piss me off but it was like... We'd been this partnership in the show and suddenly I could see she was moving away from her acting. So there were a few arguments. I had my own ego at that point "why isn't this happening to me?"'

Kylie previously admitted she had forgotten about the clips' existence until Netflix producers were able to track them down.
