Moss, who was discovered as a teenager in Croydon in the late 1980s, has maintained an enigmatic public persona, often adopting the mantra 'never complain, never explain' from former boyfriend Johnny Depp. The docuseries is expected to offer an unprecedented look into her world.
The news comes ahead of the release of 'Moss & Freud', a semi-fictionalised film about her friendship with artist Lucian Freud. Moss served as an executive producer on that project, which depicts her sitting for a portrait by Freud in 2002. The film stars Ellie Bamber as Moss and Derek Jacobi as Freud.
Director James Lucas, who wrote and directed 'Moss & Freud', approached Moss with a letter outlining his vision. He described the period as a 'sea-change moment' in her life. Moss not only approved the film but also helped cast Bamber and spent time with her to ensure accuracy.
The Netflix docuseries is still in early development, with no release date confirmed. Moss's representatives have not commented on the reports.
