Julianne Moore, 65, has delighted fans by sharing a series of sun-drenched holiday snaps from a family getaway to Italy. The Oscar-winning actress posted images on Instagram showing herself and her 23-year-old daughter, Liv, wearing matching black bikinis.
In one photo, Moore floats on her back in a swimming pool with her eyes closed, while Liv poses in front of a waterfall in a black-and-white shot. Fans were quick to comment on the striking resemblance between mother and daughter, with many noting their matching red hair and facial features.
Moore is on holiday with her husband, director Bart Freundlich, and their two children: Liv and son Cal, 28, who brought his fiancée along. The actress has previously spoken about embracing the ageing process and maintains her fitness with an unusual technique: walking backwards, especially uphill.
Neuroradiologist and longevity strategist Dr Kavin Mistry explained the benefits of this practice. 'Walking backwards – particularly uphill – reawakens a primal connection. It engages muscles differently, strengthens the quadriceps and core, and enhances proprioception,' he said.
Dr Mistry added that backward walking can help counteract age-related loss of balance and neuromuscular coordination, encouraging the brain and body to stay adaptable. 'It is a reminder that our bodies thrive on variety and adaptation,' he noted.
