Josie Gibson has revealed that her ambitious eco-home renovation project has left her 'skint', forcing her to move back into a caravan. The This Morning star appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday to discuss her new ITV series, Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, which documents the transformation of her Somerset home into an off-grid eco-haven.
During the interview with hosts Ranvir Singh and Ed Balls, Gibson admitted the financial strain of the project. 'Well, I'm moving back into a caravan,' she said when Ranvir noted her journey from caravan living to owning a large house. The TV presenter explained that her 'dream' has always been to build an eco-friendly property 'as off-grid as possible'.
Gibson is working closely with her family on the renovation, including her brothers Josh and Charlie, who are scrap metal traders, and her cousin Tom, a builder. She confessed that working with relatives has been challenging. 'They say never to work with family or animals, and I've done just that. To say my stress levels are up here... They are great, they are amazing, but there are a lot of challenges, let's say.'
The mum-of-one admitted to sleepless nights and 'massive obstacles' but has no regrets. 'Sometimes, you get this great big dream and you follow your dreams, but you don't realise, with those dreams, there could be quite a lot of hurdles,' she said. The seven-part series, produced by MGM Alternative, is set to air in 2026, following her Channel 5 travel series Around the World in First Class.
