Jorgie Porter, known for playing Theresa McQueen on Hollyoaks, is set to depart the Channel 4 soap after filming her final scenes in October 2024. The actress, who announced she is expecting her second child with partner Oliver Piotrowski, will be written out in a Christmas storyline.
To mark her exit, bosses have arranged for the return of two McQueen family matriarchs: Myra McQueen, played by Nicole Barber-Lane, and Nana McQueen, portrayed by Diane Langton. Both characters will make a comeback this Christmas, providing a boost to the family as Theresa leaves and Mercedes battles bowel cancer.
Nicole Barber-Lane, who first left Hollyoaks in 2019, had previously stated she would not return, but agreed to a short stint for Porter's exit. Diane Langton's return was confirmed by co-star James Sutton on Instagram. The returns are described as a 'Christmas miracle' by a source cited by The Sun.
