John Simm Confirms Return For Grace Series 7 After Cliffhanger

ITV crime drama Grace concluded its sixth series with a dramatic cliffhanger on Sunday night, leaving fans desperate for more. The episode saw DS Roy Grace (John Simm) and Cleo (Zoe Tapper) finally marry, only for Cleo to be abducted by an associate of gang leader Albazi, who had been terrorising Grace's family. The final scene showed Grace asking his captor, 'What do you want?' setting up a seventh series.

Following the broadcast, ITV shared behind-the-scenes photos on social media, prompting fans to plead for the show's return. One viewer commented: 'Brilliant finale. Edge of the seat stuff! Bring on season 7.' Another said: 'Watched the final this morning. Wow what a cliffhanger ending… I need more Grace.'

Although ITV has not officially announced a seventh series, John Simm appeared to confirm its future in a social media exchange. When a fan asked, 'Hi John will there be a series 7,' Simm replied simply: 'Yes.' The actor had previously told ITV: 'I will happily do this as long as people want it. I love the job.'

Co-star Richie Campbell, who plays DI Glenn Branson, echoed Simm's enthusiasm, saying: 'As long as people still love it, I'm just like John, I want to do it forever.' The series, based on Peter James's novels, has been praised for its character portrayals and gripping storylines.
