JB Gill Returns to The One Show After JLS Tour Break

Viewers of The One Show received a welcome surprise on Thursday evening when presenter Alex Jones revealed the return of a familiar face to the famous green sofa.

A Warm Welcome Back for JB Gill

Moments into the BBC One programme on December 4, Alex Jones was not presenting alone. She excitedly introduced her co-host, JB Gill, who had been absent from the studio while touring with his band, the chart-topping group JLS.

"Hello there and welcome to your Thursday's One Show on BBC One and iPlayer. Now look who is back after touring with his band JLS, It's JB Gill!" Alex declared as the cameras focused on the reunited presenting duo.

"It's good to be back Alex, thank you," JB responded warmly, before offering fans an insight into his time away. He shared details of a special initiative he participated in while on the road, called 'One Big Thank You'.

"We surprised two inspirational sisters Megan and Brogan, who after experiencing a tragic event, have made it their mission to help others in their community," he explained.

From The Stage to The Studio

JB's break from the BBC magazine show was spent on 'The Club Is Alive: 2025 Hits Tour' with his fellow JLS members Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, and Oritsé Williams. The tour promised fans an ultimate night out, featuring classic anthems like 'Everybody In Love' and 'Eyes Wide Shut'.

His return to television duties coincides with the announcement of another major small-screen venture. It has been confirmed that JB will be a contestant on the upcoming BBC Children in Need special of The Celebrity Apprentice.

Gearing Up for The Celebrity Apprentice

In a festive twist for the charity episodes, JB and eleven other celebrities—including his Strictly Come Dancing 2024 co-star Sarah Hadland—will be whisked off to Lapland. Their challenge will be to create and pitch their own gingerbread biscuits to major UK retailers.

In a show first, the winning festive creations will actually be stocked in shops across the nation, with proceeds supporting BBC Children in Need.

Following the official cast reveal, JB took to his Instagram to share his excitement. On his Story, he posted a sharp boardroom-style photo captioned, "The News is out. Your boy looking suave on #TheCelebrityApprentice."

In a longer post on his main feed, he wrote: "Aaaaaah! I can't believe I'm going to be in #TheCelebrityApprentice this year... I grew up watching this show... And now I've got my chance [emojis]. It's A LOT more daunting on this side of the screen trust me!"

He added his enthusiasm for raising vital funds for charity through the product sales, urging fans to tune in when The Celebrity Apprentice: Christmas Special airs soon on BBC One and iPlayer.

The One Show continues to air weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
