JB Gill paused The One Show on Thursday (March 27) to congratulate sister programme Morning Live on its first-ever BAFTA nomination. The former JLS star, co-hosting with Alex Jones, dedicated the opening minutes of the BBC broadcast to the milestone.
“Now, we have got to say congratulations first off to our sister show Morning Live, who earlier today, were nominated for Best Daytime Show in the TV BAFTAs,” Gill said. Jones echoed the sentiment, adding, “Oh, it is so well deserved. Congratulations!”
Morning Live is competing against Clive Myrie's Caribbean Adventure, Loose Women, and Richard Osman's House of Games in the category. Notably, This Morning was omitted from the nominees for the second consecutive year following its hosting changes.
The TV BAFTAs, hosted by Alan Cumming, will take place at the Royal Festival Hall in May. The BBC leads the nominations with 49, followed by Channel 4 with 18 and ITV with 14.
