James Acaster revealed himself as a Traitor during the Celebrity Traitors semi-final, prompting an outpouring of fan reaction just hours before the final. The admission came at the roundtable on Thursday night (October 29) when the comedian confessed to murdering Ross Kemp in plain sight.
Roundtable Confession Shocks Co-Stars
After a challenge that saw James Blunt screaming out of a window, the remaining players gathered at the roundtable. When Michael Sheen accused James of being a Traitor, the comic dropped his facade and admitted the truth. Sheen had suspected both James and Maya of being murderers.
Speaking to the cameras, James said: "They've got me, I've been caught. I've always been a Faithful at heart. The reluctant traitor. So I'm going to do what I've done this whole game, continue to be completely honest."
He added: "I'm glad that I got to play this game on my own terms. I'm glad I got to support my fellow Traitors because they mean the world to me. When I came into this experience I told Claudia all I wanted to be was a Faithful."
Fans React to the Bombshell
Addressing the group, he said: "I just want to explain my situation, I was made a Traitor. I don't want to say 'it's me vote for me', but it's all I can do really."
Fans were stunned by the admission, with many suggesting he had "ruined the game." On X, one fan said: "What the hell has just happened."
A second wrote: "This is sooo painful" while another said: "James Acaster broke. Wow." More added to the conversation online: "I can't believe he just did this....", "JAMES ACASTER WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!!!!!!" and "WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!"
Another said: "Great way to ruin a good roundtable" while more fans were in disbelief. They said: "James Acaster you ruined the game" and "Ruined the whole round table!"
Final Lineup Confirmed
James was voted out at the roundtable, leaving behind fellow Traitors Kenny and Maya, who couldn't believe it. The seven finalists are Maya, Kenny, Sebastian Croft, James Blunt, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, and Romesh Ranganathan.
The Celebrity Traitors final airs on Friday (October 30) at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
