ITV has confirmed that filming for the sixth series of the detective drama The Bay is now underway. The show, set in Morecambe, will see Marsha Thomason reprise her role as DS Jenn Townsend, alongside returning cast members Daniel Ryan, Andrew Dowbiggin, Olwen May, Suzanne Packer, Tara Lynne O'Neill, and Jacob Butler.
New additions to the cast include Claire Calbraith, known for Mr Bates vs the Post Office, and Alec Newman from Dept. Q, who will play Rebecca and Joe Hollis, foster parents of the victim. The sixth series will investigate the murder of teenage foster child Logan Marsden, with the case revealing hidden dangers and unexpected connections within the local community.
Executive producer Catherine Oldfield expressed delight at reaching a sixth series, calling it 'an absolute treat' for fans. Writer Daragh Carville added that the new series begins with 'a shocking discovery in a fairground on the prom'. The show has been praised by viewers, with series five ranking among ITV's most-watched dramas of 2025.
