Lorraine Kelly Set to Leave ITV as Channel Faces Brutal Job Cuts

Lorraine Kelly is expected to leave ITV when her contract ends next year, according to a source. The 65-year-old presenter, who has hosted her eponymous show for 15 years, was reportedly furious when ITV announced earlier this year that her programme would be cut to 30 weeks in 2026, down from the full 52. From January, the show will also be reduced to a 30-minute slot from 9.30am to 10am, a change that Kelly expressed frustration over in May.

A source told Mail Online: 'Lorraine sees it as the end. She's got a year left on her contract which she will honour, but beyond that there are no plans for her to stay. She will be leaving.' The source added that while Kelly is financially secure, her long-serving staff may struggle to find work in television. A consultation period is underway to determine who will be affected by ITV's cost-cutting measures.

Production staff on Kelly's show, as well as other ITV daytime programmes, are reportedly facing significant impacts. One employee described the situation as 'horrendous,' claiming that 'all the big names are staying while the little people get the boot.' The employee suggested that cutting some presenters could save money, but noted that many high-profile hosts remain safe.

Among those retaining their jobs is Richard Madeley, who has signed a new short-term contract to continue presenting Good Morning Britain for at least six more months. Susanna Reid's position is also said to be secure. However, Kelly's regular stand-ins Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh may see their appearances reduced as part of the cuts.
