ITV has confirmed that its beloved drama Grantchester will conclude after its upcoming 11th series, marking the end of a decade-long run. The show, which debuted in 2014 and also airs on PBS in the US, stars Robson Green as Detective Geordie Keating and Rishi Nair as Reverend Alphy Kottaram.
Series creator and writer Daisy Coulam expressed gratitude, saying: 'At its heart, Grantchester is a show about the power of friendship and love. We've been so lucky over the last 11 series to experience that on and off screen.' Filming for the final episodes has begun, with the series set to air in 2025.
The 11th series will be set in the summer of 1963, as Alphy explores his past and questions his identity. Returning cast members include Al Weaver as Leonard Finch, Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs. C, and Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating.
Robson Green paid tribute to the team, stating: 'From the very beginning, I have had the incredible fortune to be part of this extraordinary team... They have become family.' The show previously saw the departure of Tom Brittney, who played Will Davenport, in 2023.
