ITV confirms second series of Gone with Keeley Hawes

ITV has confirmed a second series of the psychological crime drama Gone, with Keeley Hawes joining the cast. The announcement was made on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

Eve Myles will reprise her role as DS Annie Cassidy, who in the first series investigated the disappearance of headmaster Michael Polly's wife, played by David Morrissey. The case became complicated when Polly emerged as the principal suspect.

New case in Bristol

In the second series, DS Cassidy takes on a fresh case in Bristol, examining Ruth Manning, a dedicated paediatric surgeon concealing a "dark truth about a series of historical crimes." Keeley Hawes will play Ruth Manning.

ITV viewers reacted enthusiastically to the announcement on Instagram, with one posting: "YES YES YES AND YES." Another remarked: "What a combination of Talent!! Holy s**t @teamevemyles25 I'm ecstatic!!!"

Cast and crew reactions

Eve Myles said: "I can't wait to get back to Annie! A very special project and character. I'm really excited to explore a new story with a brilliant cast!"

ITV's Director of Drama Polly Hill added: "We had a phenomenal response to Gone, which was a testament to George Kay's brilliant scripts, and we are delighted that George will bring the audience another series and a new case for Annie Cassidy."

Critical acclaim and availability

Since its release earlier this year, the series has garnered widespread acclaim from ITV viewers, with one IMDb user hailing it a "masterpiece drama" and another celebrating it as "One of 2026's standout dramas."

Gone is available to watch on ITVX.
