Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson has confirmed that his character Ste Hay is indeed responsible for the death of Ella Richardson, dismissing fan theories that suggested a twist. The revelation comes after viewers speculated that Ste might have only run over Ella's boot, not the teenager herself.
Ste caused a fatal car crash last month while speeding to get his daughter Leah Barnes to hospital after she suffered alcohol poisoning. The accident resulted in the death of Leah's friend Ella, but Ste fled the scene. Felix Westwood has been wrongly blamed for the crash.
In an interview, Richardson stated: 'I really don't think there is a twist, but then again, it's Hollyoaks, so never say never but as far as I’m aware Ste did kill Ella, so sorry.' He added that the guilt would eventually lead Ste to confess, especially given that Leah was in the car during the incident.
The actor acknowledged fan feedback suggesting Ste couldn't have committed the crime, but maintained that the storyline is straightforward. Spoilers for next week indicate Ste is set to make a killer confession, potentially exposing his involvement.
