Mindy Kaling, known for her work on The Office and The Mindy Project, returns with a new comedy series Not Suitable for Work, premiering 2 June on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK. The show follows five friends in their 20s living in the same Manhattan neighbourhood, each with professional ambitions and workaholic tendencies. The ensemble includes a financial analyst, a fashion stylist, and a medical student who secretly wants to be an actor, with their paths crossing in complicated ways.
The cast features relatively unknown actors in the lead roles, supported by familiar faces such as Jay Ellis, Constance Wu, and Ego Nwodim, who play bosses, mentors, or antagonists. Kaling, who has a strong track record with shows like The Sex Lives of College Girls and Running Point, is the sole creator of this series, which blends elements of Friends and The Office.
