Call The Midwife stars Helen George and Jack Ashton have reportedly fallen for each other off screen, following their on-screen romance in the BBC1 drama. The pair, who play nurse Trixie Franklin and the Reverend Tom Hereward, grew close while filming on location in South Africa.
Sources reveal that the actors have been enjoying dates and booked into the exclusive Moditlo Lodge under pseudonyms. Staff at the wildlife reserve described the couple as “very much in love,” noting they spent time by the pool and visited an animal rehabilitation centre together.
Helen, 31, who also competed on Strictly Come Dancing, shared pictures from the trip on Instagram. The couple saw cheetahs, lions, elephants, and leopards during their stay, with Helen calling it “the most wonderful experience of her life.”
On screen, Trixie and Tom were engaged but split in the last series. Off screen, Helen separated from her husband Oliver Boot last year. A spokesperson for the pair declined to comment on their relationship.
