Great British Sewing Bee 2024: Meet the Finalists as Winner Crowned Tonight

The Great British Sewing Bee 2024 concludes tonight (24th July) with three finalists vying for the title. The episode begins with a challenge to create opera gloves, testing precision on delicate fabrics. The transformation challenge requires turning party paraphernalia into party outfits, followed by the Made to Measure challenge, where finalists must drape fabric to create full outfits.

The finalists are Ailsa, Luke, and Pascha. Ailsa, whose style is described as contemporary and sustainable, enjoys wild swimming in Loch Lomond. Luke learned sewing from their grandmother at age eight and works as a diversity, equality and inclusion director. Pascha, a psychology and innovation student, once made a Marie Antoinette-inspired silk ballgown.

The series featured 12 contestants in total, including copywriter Alex, who sews sustainably; Comfort, a former architect turned designer; Don, who learned sewing over 70 years ago; Georgie, a sustainability advocate who recycles tablecloths; Janet, who makes glamorous dresses; Lauren, inspired by 80s fashion; Marcus, who describes his garments as jarring; Neil, who learned to sew due to his height; and Suzy, who uses charity shop materials.
