Gogglebox stars Jenny Newby and Lee Riley have received an outpouring of support from fans after bidding farewell to the latest series of the hit Channel 4 show. The beloved duo, who first joined the programme in 2014, have become firm favourites with viewers for their witty commentary on the week's television offerings.
Fans React to Series Finale
In a video shared on their joint Instagram account, Jenny and Lee thanked fans for their support as the 16-week series drew to a close. Lee said: "Well guys, that's it, the last of the show this evening. I hope you've enjoyed all 16 weeks as much as we have. Thank you for all your support through this series." Jenny added: "Yeah and we hope to see you all again in August." Lee further clarified that they would be returning at the end of August or September.
Fans quickly flooded the comments section with messages of appreciation. One wrote: "You two never fail to make me smile, you are both the reason I watch Gogglebox. Never stop the double act. Have a wonderful summer." Another said: "Will miss you all but looking forward to the laughs again… especially from you two!!! Have a wonderful summer!!" A third commented: "I've loved it as always. Tribute to Ken Harwood
The news comes after it was announced that Gogglebox star Ken Harwood had passed away at the age of 77. Ken, from Consett in County Durham, appeared on the show from 2020 to 2022 alongside his wife Anne, to whom he was married for 55 years. Studio Lambert, the production company behind the programme, released a statement saying: "He will be dearly missed by his wife Anne, sons Simon and Ross, daughter-in-law Elle, grandchildren Freya and Tristram, and all who knew him." A tribute to Ken Harwood was featured at the end of a recent episode of Gogglebox.
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
