GMB's Laura Tobin Takes Easter Break to Spend Time with Family

Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin has announced she is taking a break from the ITV show to spend time with her family during the Easter holidays. The 41-year-old shared the news on Instagram on Monday, stating she would be off for the first week of the school break.

In her post, Tobin wrote: "I'm on leave for the first week of the Easter holidays & spending time with the family, mostly enjoying the sun & eating chocolate." She also indicated she might take a break from social media, adding: "So I probably won't post that much. Have a lovely Easter & see you @gmb a week on Wednesday."

Tobin, who has been with GMB for a decade after leaving BBC's Daybreak, is married to Dean Brown. The couple have a five-year-old daughter, Charlotte, who was born 12 weeks premature in 2017, weighing just 2lb 8oz. Due to her weak immune system, Charlotte was unable to socialise normally for her first two years.

In a 2021 interview with the Mirror's Notebook magazine, Tobin recalled how Dr Hilary Jones advised her to go to hospital after she experienced stomach pains on set, which turned out to be early labour. She said: "If you knew what was happening, you’d be very worried, but I didn’t know I was going into labour."

Tobin keeps her family life largely private, rarely sharing photos of her daughter on social media. Her return to GMB is expected on Wednesday, 17 April.
