ITV Faces Viewer Backlash as Good Morning Britain and This Morning Axed for Women's World Cup

ITV has sparked a backlash from viewers after pulling This Morning, Good Morning Britain, and Loose Women from its schedule to make way for the Women's FIFA World Cup. This Morning and Loose Women will not air on Thursday, with Australia's match against the Republic of Ireland kicking off after Lorraine Kelly's show at 10:15am and running until 1:30pm. Good Morning Britain will be affected on Friday.

Viewers expressed frustration on social media, with one fan saying: 'I like my sports... but isn't there enough sports channels to show that??? No need for messing with daily schedules constantly.' Another complained: 'Shouldn't have sport on ITV1 why can't it just go on the sports channels that's what it's there for.'

The schedule changes come as BBC and ITV share coverage of all 64 World Cup games, including England's matches against Haiti, Denmark, and China. The Lionesses face Haiti on July 22 at 10:30am UK time, followed by a clash with Denmark on July 28.

Loose Women confirmed the changes on Twitter, stating: 'As the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup kicks off this week, there will be some slight changes to our usual schedule.' This Morning and Good Morning Britain are expected to return on Tuesday at 10am and 6am respectively.
