Gladiator Star Matt Morsia Reveals Gruesome Bicep Injury After 'Ripping' Muscle

Gladiator star Matt Morsia has shared a health update after suffering a painful injury that left his bicep 'hanging off'. The athlete, known as Legend on the BBC revival of Gladiators, revealed the accident occurred while filming the show.

Appearing on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, Morsia explained he was taking part in a game where he tackled a contender. 'I dived, grabbed the contender but he'd managed to hold on to the big post at the end, so I had flown off and my arm ripped behind me,' he said. 'I thought I'd ripped his vest off because I heard this massive rip. Turned out, it was just my bicep.'

The injury required surgery last year, which Morsia described as 'the worst time of my life'. In a social media post, he detailed his recovery: 'I had intense post-operative sickness, didn't eat for 12 days, and lost around 15kg in bodyweight.' He thanked his wife for her support, calling her 'an absolute hero'.
