Actress Ginny Holder, known for playing Darlene Curtis in the BBC series Death in Paradise, has left the show after seven years. Her character will not appear in the upcoming 15th series, which returns to BBC One on Friday, January 30 at 9pm.
Darlene first appeared in series seven as Dwayne Myers's love interest and office administrator, later training to become a police officer. Holder expressed her emotional farewell on social media, stating she loved Darlene 'deeply' and missed her.
Fans can see Holder later this year in the third series of The Capture, returning after a three-year hiatus. She reprises her role as DI Nadia Latif, alongside Paapa Essiedu and Holliday Grainger. The new series will air on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this spring, though an exact date has not been announced.
Meanwhile, Death in Paradise introduces Police Sergeant Mattie Fletcher, played by Catherine Garton. Don Gilet, who plays Mervin Wilson, described her as a rebellious yet nurturing addition to the team.
