Gillian Anderson cast in Netflix's The Boys from Brazil

Netflix has unveiled its latest major production, a gripping limited series from Peter Morgan, the acclaimed creator behind The Crown. The project is an adaptation of Ira Levin's celebrated 1976 novel, The Boys from Brazil.

A Stellar Cast for a Chilling Thriller

The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Gillian Anderson, famed for her roles in The X-Files and The Crown, will star alongside Jeremy Strong of Succession fame. They are joined by August Diehl, Daniel Brühl, Shira Haas, and Lizzy Caplan.

Jeremy Strong takes on the pivotal role of Yakov Liebermann, a Holocaust survivor and relentless Nazi hunter. His character's quest for justice has come at a great personal cost.

The Unfolding Nazi Conspiracy

The narrative spans three decades, from the end of the Second World War into the 1970s. The plot thrusts Liebermann into a race against time when a young protégé uncovers a shocking Nazi plan in Brazil.

The threat comes from Doctor Johann-Friedrich Meinhardt, a sadistic Nazi scientist long thought to be dead. He is revealed to be alive and orchestrating a diabolical project aimed at sparking the rise of a Fourth Reich, a story of fixation, revenge, and enduring hatred.

Production and Anticipation

Production is scheduled to commence in December, with filming taking place across the UK, Germany, Bulgaria, and Spain. The series is a collaboration between World Productions and Orchid Pictures.

Suzanne Mackie from Orchid Pictures expressed her excitement, stating they cannot wait to bring Peter Morgan's bold reimagining of this classic thriller to the screen.

The novel has been praised as a masterful mystery, and fans on social media are already anticipating an incredible adaptation. One fan noted that the story's once-fictional science now feels eerily relevant, promising a deeply disturbing and compelling watch.

The Boys from Brazil will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
