Home and Away star Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart, has undergone her second hip replacement surgery in six years. The actress shared a health update on Instagram, revealing she is three weeks into her rehabilitation and recovering well.
Parker wrote: 'I've been busy. Finishing a play and then straight into another theatre for a new hip. My second in 6 years, and thank god I had the same brilliant surgeon and his team. I hate the drugs but love the rehab.' She added that she is 'practising patience now while I heal… so I can get back to work baby.'
The actress has been filming a mini series during her recovery, though details of the project have not been disclosed. In recent Home and Away episodes aired in the UK, Parker's character Roo decided to become an emergency foster carer, a storyline that saw her father Alf initially concerned but ultimately supportive.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
