A resident of the Isles of Scilly has shared the ingenious way she used her dog to get the attention of Britain's Got Talent star Amanda Holden during a chance encounter on the islands.
Georgia May was sitting on a seaside bench with her dog Maya when she spotted Holden chatting with a group of people. Rather than interrupt, she sent Maya over to the group, knowing the dog would naturally draw Holden's attention.
The plan worked perfectly. Maya ran straight to Holden, who greeted the dog warmly and was heard asking, 'Oh, who is this one?' The encounter led to a photo of Georgia and Holden together, which Georgia posted on Instagram with the caption: 'What a fab day yesterday. Pimped out Maya to say hi to Amanda... legend dog. Amanda - what a lush lady. Truly so lovely.'
Holden was not the only notable visitor to the Isles of Scilly last week; Prince William, Duke of Cornwall, was also on a two-day tour of the South West. Georgia captured a photo of William, though it is unclear if he met Maya.
Social media users praised Maya's obedience, with one commenter saying: 'Maya didn't mess around, she knew the assignment!'
