The second season of Gen V, the irreverent spin-off of R-rated superhero satire The Boys, has arrived with its trademark bawdy chaos. The series follows troubled teens at Godolkin University as they battle corporate tyranny, but this season introduces a new dean, Cipher, played by Hamish Linklater, whose unsettling presence hints at a fascist turn. The show is packed with swearing, violence, and an astonishing number of penises, including a gratuitous full-frontal male locker room scene.
Returning characters include Emma (Lizzie Broadway), who is relieved to be released from the Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center but disturbed by the new regime at Godolkin. Marie (Jaz Sinclair) is on the run, while Andre (Chance Perdomo) has died, and the role was not recast. Jordan (London Thor/Derek Luh) joins Emma in suspicion of Dean Cipher, whom they believe was present at Elmira as a doctor.
Dean Cipher's supremacist rhetoric, calling dissenters "race traitors," fuels campus unrest. Humans face increased harassment from Cipher-emboldened frat-supes, while activists daub "Resist" on posters of Homelander. The season maintains the series' signature style: outrageous set-pieces, heavy swearing and violence, and navigation of teenage belief systems, with some references to events in The Boys.
