Lineker's Comments on The Rest Is Football
On the Netflix show The Rest Is Football, Lineker stated: "Three minutes of a hydration break, even when some stadiums have air conditioning, they're cool, they've got lids on." He added that these breaks are used for advertising, though ITV chose not to air commercials, a decision he praised.
Lineker said: "I want to give ITV a pat on the back here, because I think they could have taken that option, but they're not. Well done for not doing that." He questioned the "Americanisation" of football driven by corporate interests.
