ITV's new game show, The Fortune Hotel, has transported contestants to the Caribbean island of Grenada, where they are staying at the luxurious Silversands resort. The show, hosted by Stephen Mangan, features 10 pairs of contestants competing for a £250,000 jackpot. Each pair receives a briefcase upon arrival, with only one containing the prize and another holding an early check-out card that eliminates the holders.
The Silversands hotel, located on Grenada's Grand Anse Beach, opened in December 2018. It offers 43 suites and nine villas, each with private pools, with prices starting from around £720 per night. The hotel's standout feature is a 100-metre-long infinity pool, the largest in the Caribbean, stretching from the reception to the beach.
Grenada, known as 'the island of spice' for its nutmeg production, lies about 100 miles north-east of Venezuela. The journey from London to Maurice Bishop International Airport takes just under 11 hours, including stopovers. The island boasts tropical jungles, waterfalls, and mountains, with temperatures averaging 30°C year-round.
The Fortune Hotel airs on ITV1 and ITVX. The first episode was broadcast on Monday, May 13, at 9pm.
