Foo Fighters Confirm Stage Times for Anfield Stadium Concerts
Foo Fighters Stage Times at Anfield Stadium Confirmed

The stage times for Foo Fighters' Take Cover tour at Anfield Stadium have been confirmed. The American rock band will play the first of two highly anticipated shows at the home of Liverpool FC today, Thursday, June 25, before returning for a second performance on Saturday, June 27.

Foo Fighters' History and Anfield Debut

Foo Fighters began as a one-man project for former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl following the death of the band's frontman Kurt Cobain in 1994. Dave Grohl later recruited additional members and the group made its live debut in 1995. Since then, the band has enjoyed worldwide success with rock anthems including All My Life, Best of You and My Hero.

It will mark the first time Foo Fighters have performed at Anfield, although frontman Dave Grohl is no stranger to the stadium. He joined Paul McCartney on stage there in 2008 during the Beatles legend's concert celebrating Liverpool's year as Capital of Culture.

Dave Grohl on Anfield and Paul McCartney

Speaking on Absolute Radio's Dave Berry Breakfast on Monday, February 23, frontman Dave discussed his friendship with Paul McCartney, as well as the band's upcoming UK shows. Presenter Dave Berry asked whether Dave was looking forward to going back to Anfield and if Paul McCartney would "return the favour" and join the band on stage.

Dave said: "When I first found out we were doing that gig I let him know and he was like, 'oh you're going to have a blast, it'll be amazing.' Yeah, Liverpool's awesome, that place is great! I was actually surprised we're only doing two shows in the UK on that trip. I think that we should do more."
