Thousands of Foo Fighters fans have headed to Anfield Stadium as the band performs for a second time. The American rock act played at the home of Liverpool FC on Thursday, June 25, and are set to bring their Take Cover Tour to the stadium once again tonight (June 27).

Fans Travel from Near and Far

The Liverpool Echo has been out in Liverpool city centre chatting to Foo Fighters fans ahead of the highly-anticipated second show. Helen Flanagan, from St Albans, was seeing Foo Fighters for the 10th time tonight. She said: “I’m really excited. I love the whole vibe of the Foo Fighters and I don’t care if I’m at the front or the back. It’s like a big family and it’s so much fun.”

Karen Foozie has travelled from San Diego and seen Foo Fighters about 60 times. Karen said: “They’re great people and I love their songs and their fans are great. I love how we hangout and get ready for it. We call it the Foo family.”

A Storied Career and Anfield Debut

Over the past three decades, Foo Fighters have become one of the world's most successful rock acts, producing a string of hit songs such as My Hero, All My Life and Best of You. Thursday was Foo Fighters’ first appearances at Anfield. However, frontman Dave Grohl has previously performed at the famous stadium, joining Sir Paul McCartney on stage during the former Beatle’s 2008 Liverpool Capital of Culture celebration concert.

Atmosphere and Scenes

Fans chilled on the grass before the show started, with everyone raring to go. Signs were at the ready as the Foo Fighters drew a large crowd around Anfield. Crowds poured into the stadium, with fans rocking up in Foo Fighters merchandise. All ages were in attendance, and the day was sunny and warm while everyone waited.
