Fans of Peaky Blinders have been left wondering about the fate of Finn Shelby, played by Harry Kirton, after his absence from the new film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The character, who was banished from the Shelby family in the sixth season of the BBC series, is confirmed to be alive and now residing in Liverpool.
In the TV series, Finn was exiled after betraying the family. He was tasked with killing Billy Grade, who had double-crossed the Shelbys to the IRA, but instead aimed his weapon at Duke Shelby. Duke ordered him to leave and never return, prompting Finn to vow he would come back.
Creator Steven Knight explained to The Hollywood Reporter that Finn's absence from the film was due to the need for a more focused narrative. 'Because it's a film, not a series, you don't have the luxury of being so expansive in terms of characters,' Knight said.
Finn remains the sole surviving Shelby sibling after the events of the film, leaving the door open for a potential future confrontation with Duke. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is now streaming on Netflix.
