Dick and Angel Strawbridge Mark 10th Anniversary Amid TV Return
Escape to The Chateau Couple's 10th Anniversary

Escape to The Chateau stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge have marked their tenth wedding anniversary with an emotional social media tribute, while simultaneously announcing their television comeback following their controversial departure from Channel 4.

A Milestone Celebration

The couple, known for transforming their French chateau into a family home, shared numerous nostalgic photographs on Instagram this Friday to commemorate their decade of marriage. Dick, 66, and Angel, 47, posted sweet throwback images including pictures with their children Arthur, 12, and Dorothy, 11, throughout the years.

In their lengthy caption, the pair expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming messages of support they received. They described spending a glorious day wandering around Rennes, reminiscing about their wedding and discussing their children, family, and friends. The emotional day included both laughter and happy tears as they felt blessed by their journey together.

The date held double significance for the couple, also marking exactly fifteen years since they first met. They recalled the moment they sat across a table and instantly fell in love, becoming inseparable from that point forward.

Television Return and Past Controversy

This heartfelt celebration comes as the Strawbridges prepare for their television return, having recently announced they are officially back in production for Escape to The Chateau Series 10. This development follows their dramatic exit from Channel 4 in 2022 after the show was axed due to bullying allegations.

The couple's popular programme had aired fifty episodes over nine seasons before Channel 4 confirmed they would no longer work with Dick and Angel on any new productions following an independent review. The decision came after allegations of behind-the-scenes conflicts, including a leaked recording where Angel used strong language toward a producer.

Despite the controversy, the Strawbridges have maintained their innocence. Angel previously explained on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast that while she regrets the incident occurring, she stands by her actions given what she described as provocative behaviour from the producer involved.

A New Chapter Begins

The upcoming tenth series promises to focus less on renovations and more on the family's current chapter, particularly their parenting journey as Arthur and Dorothy have now settled into college. The couple confirmed the new instalment would bring more change and growth than the chateau has ever seen.

They expressed delight at welcoming back their filming crew, including a heartwarming reunion with crew member Olga who they hadn't seen since 2021. Fans eagerly responded to the announcement, with many expressing excitement about the show's return and admiration for the family's journey.

The Strawbridges concluded their anniversary message with a simple toast raised during dinner at Café Grandmas: To the best 15 years of our lives. They thanked their followers for sharing their journey and supporting them through love, laughter, and the next chapter of their adventure.
