Emmerdale fans were left overjoyed as Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden confirmed they will remarry following the dramatic events of the Corriedale crossover with Coronation Street. The couple, known as Robron, decided to tie the knot again after a series of chaotic incidents involving villainous husbands, a prison release, and near-death experiences.
During the crossover, Aaron was injured in a car crash after driving off with killer husband John Sugden. Robert, with help from Joe Tate, managed to reach the scene and frantically searched for his soulmate. Finding Aaron injured, the pair began discussing their future, and the topic of weddings came up.
Initially joking, they soon became serious, realising they did not want to waste any more time. Despite initial uncertainty about each other's sincerity, they agreed to try again. The moment was sealed with a kiss, and fans were thrilled. Aaron suggested it was Robert's turn to propose, then said, "why not?" and declared his love. Robert called the setting "fitting" as they agreed to "do it properly this time."
Fans took to social media to express their excitement, with one writing: "robron getting a proposal during the biggest soap event ever aired on ITV!! they will forever be THAT soap couple." Another said: "ROBRON PROPOSAL?!?!?!?!?!!?" A third added: "I'm crying. That was a beautiful." This marks the third engagement for the couple, who previously married in 2018.
Actors Ryan Hawley and Danny Miller, who play Robert and Aaron respectively, teased that the aftermath of Corriedale would be significant for Robron. Danny told The Mirror: "There's lots of twists and turns along the way. The consequences of what happens in this, they will have to sort it out between them." He added that Aaron and Robert would need to work together and lie their way out of trouble.
