Emmerdale's Tom King may be heading for a downfall as his recent actions and a new plan spark suspicion among residents. The villain, who has been subjecting wife Belle Dingle to coercive control for weeks, eyes up a new target this week before potentially putting his foot in it next week.
Tom has been jealous of Vinny Dingle's friendship with Belle and tried to sabotage their bond, but it hasn't worked. This leads him to act out violently this week. Next week, Vinny is struggling after a brutal attack, unaware that Tom is the culprit. Belle does her best to support Vinny, and Tom realises he has made things worse for himself.
In a cruel twist, Tom offers to be there for Vinny after the assault, but he belittles him and won't leave him alone, especially when he is with Belle. As Vinny recovers, Tom is annoyed with Belle for being there for Vinny and cannot contain his fury. He then suddenly decides to support Vinny and hang out with him more than usual.
Belle spots Tom's change of character and his sudden desire to support Vinny, raising her suspicions. Other residents may also find this odd and wonder if Tom knows what really happened. Vinny himself will question Tom's behaviour, but it remains unclear if he will remember anything about the assault.
With Belle curious about Tom's motives, it may only be a matter of time before someone figures out Tom's guilt. His controlling and vile treatment of Belle could be exposed if someone overhears his remarks or sees the panic in Belle's eyes when he acts out next.
