Emmerdale star Chris Coghill has expressed his disappointment over his character Kev Townsend's exit from the ITV soap. Coghill, who joined the show earlier this year, took to social media with a two-word response as Kev returns to the Dales.
Kev was introduced as Robert Sugden's prison husband, arriving in the village claiming to be terminally ill. However, it was soon revealed that Kev was faking his illness, leading to a dramatic confrontation with Robert and Aaron Dingle. After a series of events, including an armed robbery and a home invasion, Kev left the village.
Now, a new trailer shows Kev back in the Dales, threatening Aaron and Robert. In the trailer, Aaron's car window is smashed, a fire breaks out, and a bullet is found. Kev is seen sneaking around the village, watching the couple. Fans are eager to see how far Kev will go for revenge.
Coghill previously admitted he was unsure about taking the role due to its short-term nature but said he was won over by the character's potential. Actor Ryan Hawley described Kev as 'volatile and dangerous' but also 'redeemable'.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
